I understand trich hybrids have been bred to produce flowers other than the classic white.  What is the availability of such plants in Australia?  The only 'trich' I've found which produces non-white flowers is the rather small Echinopsis Huascha.

Eck,

You can get larger Tricho Hauscha species/hybrids, the plats you speak of are probably more in the clumping Echinopsis category. True T.Hauscha is quite a large plant up to 4m tall.

These type of hybrids are still pretty rare in Australia but that doesn't mean they aren't out there. There is nothing stopping you from creating a hybrid between a large Tricho such as Peruvianus or better yet Terscheckii and crossing it will a clumping echinopsis with a peach flower and creating your own.

I am going to do a few crosses this season that should produce good results, I will keep you in mind when the seed arrives...

I wasn't aware of that.  Yes, it's the small clumping variety that I saw on Ebay and Google searches.

My intro to hybrids was this stunning photo. I no longer recall where I came across it but hope the owner won't mind me reposting.

Good luck.  I'll keep my fingers crossed ... for both of us Laughing

Thanks.  I had completely forgotten Trichocereus Tarijensis - which is strange as I purchased some seeds on Ebay only a month or two ago.  They came from a cacti seed vendor new to me and I couldn't resist buying several species.
