PostSubject: Help! Hard black patches on new groth.   Sat Jan 31, 2015 10:45 pm

Need some help with a cactus thats developed hard black rot around the crown on new growth, noticed it the other week but was only a single hard black spot about the size of a match had, now its much worse.  Still around the tip/new growth.  I have inspected the rest of the plant and it seem fine, not soft or discoloured in any way.  So what should I do, let it go with a fungicide treatment or is decapitation and sulphur the way to go?

Any commets / advice would be appreciated.

Ouch! That doesn't look to good. I would isolate this one straight away just in case.

My TBM's get something that looks a bit similar. Normally the bin treatment is the only cure. I'm no expert though so hopefully someone else will have a better idea.
